The special Christmas Bingo held on Tuesday night last was an outstanding success. Many thanks to all who supported the Bingo by attending on the night. Our thanks also to all those who sponsored the numerous spot prizes.

Following on our success with under age football in the parish this year, the club has arranged a special night for the presentation of medals to the victorious Under 16 and minor teams. This function will be held in the dining room of the Yeats County Hotel , Curry sponsors of the Under 16 team, on Thursday 28th December 2000 at 7:00pm SHARP. A full meal will be provided by the club for the teams. All parents and supporters can avail of a full meal at a special rate of £8 per head. For further information please contact Club Officers or the managers Jerry Lundy, Michael Marren, Michael Henry and Paddy Henry.

On Thursday last the Millennium Draw was held in Henry’s Village Inn Tourlestrane. The winner of £300 was Jo Haran Loch Talt, £200 Jack Cooke Drummartin, £150 Ray & Kathleen Tobin, Tullinaglug £100 Peter& Breege Leonard, Banada The ten £50 winners were Anthony Collins, Banada ,Eugene Kennedy Toberroddy, James Walsh Toberroddy, Tommie Leonard Carrigeen, Bertie Marren Dawros, Kevin Kirranne Drummartin, Richard Brennan Bunninaden, Matt Walsh, Tullinaglug, Liam & Kate Murphy Tullymoy, Jane Long Banada. Congratulations to all the winners and many thanks to all who supported the draw.

There will be a senior team meeting on Wednesday 27th December at 6:00pm in the club house. All panel members are asked to attend.

The club wish to extend seasons greetings to all our members and friends and wish you the very best in 2001.

Bingo will be held on St. Stephen’s night at 6:30 pm in Banada Abbey Hall with a prize fund of £1100. Please support this joint fundraising effort between the Banada Abbey Hall Committee and Tourlestrane GAA Club.

Indoor Hurling takes place on Sundays at 6:00pm for 1st -3rd classes and Monday evenings at 6:00pm for 4th – 6th classes in Banada Abbey Hall. Leo Gaughan, Martin Brennan and David McVeigh are the organising committee of this competition. Parental supervision is welcomed and encouraged.

The club will be holding the 2nd of our Millennium Draws on Thursday December 21 at 9:30pm. A special feature of the night will be the launch of the club’s web site by County Board PRO Fr. Liam Devine. Your support would be welcome.

Congratulations to Under 21 players Stephen King Patrick Egan and Padraig Brennan who were members of the Sligo Hastings Cup team who defeated Westmeath on Saturday last.

The club wish to extend sincere sympathy to the family of the late Tom Queenan, Enniscrone, father of County Board Chairman Joe Queenan.

A very successful Race Night was held on Friday night last In Henry’s Village Inn, Tourlestrane. Sligo Selector Shane Tully presented senior league medals to the team. Many thanks to all those who supported this fundraiser by buying horses and by coming along on the night.

Congratulations to Under 21 players Stephen King Patrick Egan and Padraig Brennan who were members of the Sligo Hastings Cup team who defeated Armagh on Sunday last in Markievicz Park.

The very best of luck is wished to Patrick Egan, Brendan Egan, John Egan, and Gerry McGowan as they contest the All Ireland Inter Firms competition soon as members of the Abbott and Suppliers team. The team overcame a strong Allergan (Mayo) team to win the Connacht final recently and beat Munster Champions Sherring Plough in Charlestown on Saturday last in the All Ireland Semi Final. The final score was Abbott 4-12 Sherring Plough 0-4. They now face The Mountjoy Prison Officers team in the final.
